Stacy Dean Campbell Director |
Stacy Dean Campbell has enjoyed a career in the entertainment industry for
more than 20 years. Early on he met success in his first trip to Nashville, TN as
a young Singer/Songwriter & soon-to-be Recording Artist with Sony & Warner
Bros. Records. As a writer of prose his debut novel "Cottonwood" was published
in 2005.
Critics applauded his efforts in the studio, in concert & live appearances and as an accomplished author of fiction as featured in People Magazine, Time, Writer's Digest, American Songwriter & USA Today. In the coming years he parlayed his accomplishments to get behind the camera, his talents affording opportunities as a writer & filmmaker. With a unique eye for shot composition and a novelist's attention to detail and story, Campbell became a sought after director of grassroots, gorilla-style music videos for independent artists, directing such talent as Waylon Payne, Elizabeth Cook, Eli Young Band and music icon Kris Kristofferson. Campbell recently co-created, produces and directs the series Troubadour,TX which debuted in over 140 markets on the CW Network September 2011 with great accolades. Campbell also created, produced and directed the award winning series Bronco Roads. Cottonwood will be Stacy Dean's first feature film to direct based on his successful novel. |
Stacy Dean Campbell hit the streets of Nashville in a
white Ford LTD with hopes of a record deal and dreams of the big
time. His welcoming committee was one of Nashville’s finest who
had mistaken the dark haired musician for a dark haired felon who
was driving a car that matched the description of Campbell’s.
“Handcuffed and sitting in the back of a police car was not exactly
what I went there to accomplish”, laughs Campbell. The real felon was soon apprehended and Campbell was on his way to Music Row with a few new stories and a formal apology from the Nashville Police Department. These stories would go on to shape the singer/songwriter’s style. Singing demos and honing his songwriting skills produced a writing contract with the legendary publishing company Sony Tree. A recording contract with Columbia records soon followed and Stacy entered the studio with Grammy winning producer/engineer Brent Maher where the team created his debut album, “Lonesome Wins Again”. |

unique, stylistic filmmaking.
