Tom is a promising young actor who has recently
graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2011. His base of work has comprised of television
commercials, and lead roles in several student films at NYFA and NYU. Tom's theater experience consist
of lead roles in "Nights of the Rad Table", "Closer", "A Midsummer Night's
Dream" at the Union Square Theater.
In 2009, Tom caught the eye of acclaimed independent filmmaker, actor and director Ed Burns who cast McNamara in his feature film Nice Guy Johnny. Tom is currently in production on the feature film Rockport 39 as the lead role of Andrew - about four journalist students who are fed up with the standard way of reporting news and start doing it their own way. Tom grew up north of Boston, Massachusetts, he comes for an Irish Catholic family that helps mold him as an actor. Growing up, Tom was drawn to sports; Hockey was his first love and started playing at the age of four. In high school he played football, hockey, and lacrosse. His interest in acting came in high school when he tried out for the play "True West" and landed one of the lead roles from there he never looked back. His passion for acting brought him to New York to attend the prestigious New York Film Academy and focus on becoming an actor. [BACK] |
