John-Paul was born in Decatur, Alabama. He started out
as a young model and at the age of seven was acting in theatre in roles of "Puss and Boots" and "Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs". He then was picked up for national television commercials, but his goal was
to act in movies for television and film.
His first role was in the feature film Sweet Home Alabama with Reese Witherspoon and Patrick Dempsey. After that he got noticed by director Bryan Michael Stoller for the lead role in Bryan's indie film First Dog about an orphan boy who finds the President's dog starring Eric Roberts. JP is a skilled impressionist, and enjoys improve and comedy. He is very athletic in gymnastics, ice skating, baseball, hockey and bowling. His accents range from: Southern, Jamaican, Scottish, Irish, British and Texan. Recently, JP was cast in a leading role in the new FX network series Outlaw Country a crime thriller/drama set against the backdrop of southern organized crime and Nashville royalty where music, love, hope and tragedy collide. Starring Mary Steenburgen airing this fall. JP looks forward to portraying the role of Arliss Whitlock in film Cottonwood. He especially loves that the story is told from the point of view and from the recollections of the young boy character. [BACK] |
